Economic situation

The Czech economy focuses heavily on industry, in particular on the automobile industry. In 2014, Czech foreign trade reached an all-time high of Euro 245 billion. Czech exports equal 70% of the GDP.

Energy

The Czech Republic still uses nuclear power. Nevertheless, a call for bids for the extension of the Temelin nuclear power plant was stopped in April 2014. The amount of renewable energies as part of the gross demand of energy was already 13.6% in 2014.
